Generative Systems: Procreative Cycle

2013

Depending on how many agents are in the ecosystem, a changing fraction of those that collide into each other engage in mating. During mating their hearts grow bigger, body shapes mutate and colors change while spinning, and a small fraction of those produce offspring. Their original shape, size and colors are restored after mating. Newborns grow until they reach a certain size. Once agents reach their maximum size, they diminish in size and their colors change and gradually fade until they cease to exist.

(desired) additional developments:

  • divide into two sexes; procreate only when two sexes interact

  • one sex sensing another sex and following track til rejection/procreation

  • older agents having less chance of bearing children than younger

  • adding more agents with the click of a mouse at that exact click point
